Site Installation of Turbine Runner
Qualtex technicians installed the hydro generator turbine runner utilising their high pressure oil injection equipment.
Qualtex in depth knowledge of high-pressure oil injection technology and practical skills ensured that the runner was fitted to the main shaft without any technical issues, and the installation was completed on time.
Following the fitting of the turbine, the turbine and generator shafts needed to be connected with the use of the SKF OK Coupling. This coupling arrangement is employs high pressure oil injection to mount the coupling between the two separate shafts. The powerful use of friction in this application allows the OK coupling to transmit torque and axial load.
Once complete, the whole drive-train is precisely aligned using laser alignment equipment.
