Jason Ganley
Jason is a highly experienced industrial services professional, and the very proud business owner of Qualtex New Zealand Ltd. Whilst Jason has owned and operated electrical service businesses in various forms over many years, the purchase of Qualtex in 2012 provided for the opportunity to expand on his ability to solve challenging engineering problems, by incorporating a substantial quality mechanical engineering offering. But, engineering and business talents aside, most people will tell you that Jason’s greatest strengths stem from his passion for people – developing and fostering longstanding and trusting relationships with integrity.
Outside of work, Jason is a passionate Waikato masters hockey player. He plays for Suburbs Piako and also loves to coach junior hockey.
Joe Webber
As operations manager, Joe is an important focal point – connecting our clients and the Qualtex team to get the job done. Joe always leads by example; his extensive experience overseas in the UK, Italy, USA and Malaysia with SKF as a field service engineer, and his background in the production engineering and power generation industries, has culminated in the ability to pass on over 40 years of expert engineering knowledge to the team and clients alike.
Afterhours, Joe loves being on the beach with his dogs, going fishing, watching rugby and spending time with family and friends.
Steve Lowther
With over 35 years of experience in electro-mechanical rotating equipment service in New Zealand – from working in hands-on technical roles through to comprehensive operations and large corporate business management roles – Steve’s wealth of experience provides for a sound understanding of clients’ needs for timely, tailored solutions to real-world industrial applications and critical business needs.
Steve enjoys providing excellent service – working closely with our clients to truly get to know their business, to better understand their needs and be able to provide the best service and advice.
When not working, Steve enjoys keeping fit in the gym, spending time with family, reading, mountain biking and running.
Brent Watson
Whilst Brent often provides the team with hours of comic relief, his real talents lay in his ability and persistence in solving complex engineering problems for clients. With over 20 years of professional mechanical engineering, machining and toolmaking experience, Brent is a powerhouse of engineering knowledge. His attention to detail and ability to look at challenges holistically means – whether he’s doing the work himself or leading the team – his clients always get the right result.
Brent is a car enthusiast, so when he’s not working, he’ll often be busy in ‘the shed’ working on some really cool stuff.
Shaun Masters
Shaun is a highly skilled engineer, with extensive experience in fault diagnosis and repair in all manner of plant equipment, from the heavy earthmoving & mining sector, through to the grain handling, cement, timber processing and materials handling industries. Shaun prides himself in being a logical and analytical thinker and problem solver. Like all of the team, he loves a challenge and is often our go-to guy for innovative ideas and solutions.
In his free time, Shaun loves saltwater fishing, hunting, camping with the family, and watching rugby and motorsport.
Mike Lincoln
Mike is a seasoned heavy-industry maintenance professional with over 25 years on the tools and in leadership roles across quarrying and minerals processing. He’s progressed from fitter to supervisor to reliability tech, pairing hands-on precision with calm, structured problem solving.
At Qualtex since 2021, Mike focuses on practical, lasting fixes for rotating equipment—preventive maintenance, precision rebuilds, and root-cause diagnosis that cuts repeat failures. Colleagues value his steady approach under pressure and his habit of leaving plant running better than he found it.
Shane Pepper
Shane is an experienced mechanical services team leader with 20 years of hands-on mechanical, maintenance and rotating equipment experience across a wide range of industries, including power generation, food processing, mining, pulp and paper, and dairy.
Starting his career on the tools as an apprentice, Shane has worked his way through the trade and into leadership, bringing a strong practical understanding of rotating equipment, fans, balancing, alignments, shutdown management, rebuilds and fault finding. At Qualtex, Shane is known for his calm, well-organised approach, particularly in alignment, balancing and critical bearing assembly work.
Shane leads by example and enjoys passing on the knowledge that was passed on to him, helping others develop their skills and take pride in completing challenging work. Whether planning and executing shutdowns, mentoring the team, or staying active on the job front, he brings calmness under pressure, clear communication, attention to detail and high standards to every project.
Clients can rely on Shane to be diligent, well prepared and focused on practical, long-term solutions. His goal is always to leave equipment running reliably, clients confident in the repair, and the job completed properly — preferably without taking everything too seriously along the way.
Outside of work, Shane enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, getting outdoors, and following the NFL.
